WHAT WE DO

PROGRAMS & PROJECTS

The Merced SPCA is dedicated to providing trap-neuter-return (TNR) services for community cats, offering colony care to ensure their well-being, and providing foster services to abandoned and homeless cats in Merced. Our mission is to create a safe and humane environment for all felines in our community.

Community Conservation

Our community conservation efforts focus on creating awareness about responsible pet ownership, promoting spaying and neutering to control the cat population, and collaborating with local communities to find humane solutions for homeless and abandoned cats.

Early Education

Educating the public, especially the youth, about the importance of compassion towards animals, responsible pet ownership, and the significance of spaying and neutering is a key focus of our early education initiatives.

Environmental Policy

Advocating for policies that protect animals and their outdoor environment is an integral part of our mission. We work with local  authorities to influence environmental policies that benefit the welfare of animals in Merced.

Stopping Animal Abuse

We are committed to preventing cruelty towards animals, including cats, and take a stand against any form of animal crime or abuse. Our advocacy extends to promoting laws and regulations that protect the rights and well-being of all animals in our community.

We provide care for and feed over 65+ community cat colonies in Merced. We offer our own TNR program at no cost to you. We provide combo tests, spay/neuter, and ALL vaccinations and medical care needed to ensure all cats are safe & healthy.

Low Cost Cat Vaccination Clinic

We offer several low-cost cat & kitten vaccination clinics for our community pets to keep them happy and healthy.

Euthanasia

We believe that families should not have to say goodbye to their pet with the expense of a vet bill. At Merced SPCA we offer free euthanasia services when it's time for your beloved pet to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Our volunteers will  stay with you during the process to provide support during this difficult time.
